Riga Startups is a map of the companies, investors, accelerators and hubs that make up Latvia’s tech scene — 252 of them, across 38 neighbourhoods, with 58 open roles.
Most startup directories are built from submission forms, so they drift: a company moves, closes or renames and the listing stays as it was.
This one is reconciled against the Latvian Register of Enterprises, which publishes its full register as open data every day. 252 of our records carry a registration number, and every one of them takes its legal name, registered address and founding date from that register rather than from anyone’s memory. Coordinates come from the State Land Service address register, so a pin sits on the actual building.
A weekly diff against the register catches liquidations, renames and address changes without anyone remembering to check.
Open roles are read nightly from each company’s own public job board — the same feed their careers page uses. A role disappears here within a day of them closing it, and we list only roles someone in Riga could actually take.
Every company page has a “Suggest an edit” link, and you can add a company we have missed. We check submissions against the register before they appear, which usually takes a day or two.
