Every aggregate this site computes is free, and stays free. The row-level directory behind it, matched company by company to the Latvian company register, is available under licence. This page says exactly what each of those is, so you can tell quickly whether you need to talk to us or just download a file.

Free, and no need to ask

Each report publishes the numbers it is built from, with a header naming the source, the dump date and the definitions version. Reuse them for anything, including commercially. Attribution is welcome and not required.

The underlying sources are free too, and you should know that

The Latvian company register, the equity capital file, beneficial owners, filed annual reports and the State Land Service address register are all published as open data under CC0. Anyone can download them today, including you, without us.

We say so plainly because it decides whether a licence is worth anything to you. What the register does not contain is any statement about which of its 487,809 entries is a startup, nor a link between a company’s trading name and its registration number. That join is the work, and it is what a licence buys.

The licensed dataset

One row per organisation, 634 of them today, each carrying the fields below. It is refreshed nightly against the register and a licence includes those refreshes.

Company-level only, deliberately. No directors, no beneficial owners, no contacts, no personal data of any kind. The pipeline that reads the beneficial owners file never writes a personal field to disk, and a licence does not change that.

The history, which is the part nobody can rebuild

Since 6 September 2026 every listed company and every open role has been recorded once a night. A role that closes is erased from the job board it was on, so a nightly observation is the only place it will ever have existed, and the same is true of a company that is struck off.

That store is what will eventually carry an honest Latvian startup survival curve, one built from closures we watched rather than inferred from a directory that never contained the dead. It is also the one thing here that cannot be caught up on: a copy of this dataset made today starts its history today.

We are not selling it yet, and would rather say so than imply otherwise: a store that began on 6 September 2026 is worth little until it has years behind it, and you can do that arithmetic as well as we can. Ask again later, or tell us now what you would want from it and we will make sure it is being recorded in the meantime.

What it costs

It depends on what you need and we would rather scope it than publish a rate card we have not tested. Tell us what question you are answering and we will tell you whether this dataset answers it, including when the answer is that it does not.

Non-commercial research and Latvian public bodies: ask, and it is very likely free. We would rather this data was used than earn nothing sitting still.

A licence buys the data and the refreshes. It buys nothing else: not a listing, not a ranking, not a number in a report, and not sight of one before it is published.
