Latvian Startup Events: The Year Ahead, and Which Ones Are Worth It

A founder can spend a year's marketing budget on conference tickets and travel and come home with a tote bag. This guide lists the Latvian and Baltic events worth putting in a calendar, with the dates, venues, and prices the organisers publish, the attendance they claim, and an honest account of which ones investors actually attend.

Organisers move dates, change venues, and put tickets up. Everything here is what the organiser publishes on its own site, linked to where it says so and rechecked when that page changes. Nobody has paid to be listed.

What Are the Main Startup Events in Latvia?

Four, plus a festival. TechChill in March is the flagship, UN:BLOCK the same month covers fintech and Web3, Deep Tech Atelier in April serves science-led companies, and RIGA COMM in October is a business technology fair. The Latvian Startup Awards close the year, and LAMPA in July is the public conversation festival where policy gets argued.

Two more are worth knowing about. Baltic Fintech Days brings regulators and fintech founders together in Riga, though its next dates are not announced yet. Summer UnRest, the informal beach gathering in Liepāja, was last held on 8 August 2025, at a beach cafe in Liepāja, and nothing has been announced since.

How Do You Read the Event Calendar?

Every date, venue, price, and attendance figure below links to the organiser's own page. Announced dates come first, then events that repeat in a known month, then the ones with nothing announced, and last the editions that have already run. Filter by audience or by country.

The attendance numbers are the organisers' own. Treat them as marketing rather than audited counts, and compare them with each other rather than against anything absolute.

An edition moves to the bottom of the list, marked as already held, on the day after it ends. The page is rebuilt nightly, so that happens without anyone editing this guide, and a date here is either still ahead of you or labelled as behind you.

When Is TechChill 2027 and What Happens There?

TechChill runs 17 March 2027 for side events, and 18 and 19 March for the main days, at Hanzas Perons, with side events at Fantadroms and Teikums. The organisers put it at more than 2,000 attendees and more than 310 startups, which makes it the year's largest gathering of the Latvian ecosystem, and the week most other things are scheduled around.

The shape is familiar: a side event day first, then two days of stages, a startup competition, and the conversations in the corridors that are the actual reason to go. Because the whole ecosystem is in one building, it is also the cheapest week of the year to meet twenty people who would otherwise take you two months of coffees.

If you are pitching, the competition is worth entering for the preparation alone. If you are hiring, the crowd is the one week a year when the people you want to hire are all in the same room as you.

Which Events Do Investors Actually Attend?

The ones that publish investor numbers. Latitude59 in Tallinn claims 3,500 attendees, 800 investors, and 900 startup representatives, and Startup Fair in Vilnius counts investors too. No Latvian event publishes an investor count, which does not mean investors stay away, only that you cannot check before you buy a ticket.

• Latitude59, 19 to 21 May 2027, at Kultuurikatel in Tallinn, is the regional event most foreign funds put in the diary, and its ticket tiers are priced separately for investors, which tells you who it is built for.
• Startup Fair, in Vilnius each September (17 September 2026, in Vilnius for the current edition), reports more than 2,000 attendees, more than 450 startups, and more than 430 investors from more than 65 countries and attaches an investor day, its Investor Camp, on 16 September 2026, the day before the conference.

• Deep Tech Atelier describes itself as Northern Europe's largest deep tech event, and it runs with the state investment agency, so the money in the room is as much public as private. The public funding guide covers what that money is.

Going to meet investors works best when you already know which ones to meet. Reading a fund's stage and cheque size beforehand turns a conference into five useful meetings instead of fifty business cards.

What Does a Year of Latvian Startup Events Cost?

Less than you would think, if you stay in the Baltics. Startup Fair sells a startup ticket at EUR 69 against EUR 129 for a general attendee, sTARTUp Day opens at EUR 109, and RIGA COMM charges EUR 150 at the last minute. Latitude59 is dearer, and the table has each tier.

The ticket is rarely the expensive part. Travel, a hotel in a conference week, and two or three days of everyone's time cost more than the pass, which is the argument for going deep on one or two events a year rather than attending everything.

Startups can often go cheaper than the list price. Pitch competitions come with tickets, organisers hand out passes to their community partners, and a startup rate usually exists whether or not it is on the page.

Which Baltic Events Are Worth Leaving Latvia For?

Four, now. Latitude59, 19 to 21 May 2027, at Kultuurikatel in Tallinn. Startup Fair in Vilnius each September. sTARTUp Day, 17 to 19 August 2027, in Tartu. And LOGIN, 7 to 8 October 2027, in Vilnius. All are a drive or a short flight from Riga, and the first three put you in front of Baltic funds.

The case for going is that Baltic funds raise and invest regionally, so a Latvian company is competing for the same money as an Estonian one. sTARTUp Day is the odd one out and the reason to know it exists. It is in Tartu rather than a capital, it is built around the university and research spinouts more than the other two, and it publishes more than 3,000 attendees. Note the date if you have been before: it ran in January for a decade, its tenth edition was in January 2026, and the 2027 festival moves to August. The organiser's ticket page still shows the old January schedule under each ticket tier, which is the previous edition's and not this one's.

LOGIN is the odd one in the other direction: more than 8,000 attendees and more than 250 speakers, across six halls, which makes it the largest of the four, and the least specifically a startup event. Corporate, creative, and science programming sit alongside the business track, and the site publishes no ticket price. Go for reach rather than for a room full of investors.

The case against is the same as for any conference: if you have nothing to show and nobody to meet, you have bought an expensive walk around a hall.

What Happens at the Other Latvian Events?

Each one serves a different room. UN:BLOCK is fintech and Web3, Deep Tech Atelier is science-led, RIGA COMM sells to corporate IT buyers, LAMPA is a public festival rather than a startup event, and the Startup Awards close the year. Dates, venues, and the organisers' own numbers follow.

• UN:BLOCK, 10 and 11 March 2027 in Riga, covers blockchain, fintech, and AI on parallel stages, and the organisers claim 3,000 attendees, 700 companies, and 50 countries. Tickets are sold in tiers with no price shown on the page.
• Deep Tech Atelier, 14 and 15 April 2027 at Fantadroms, at Gustava Zemgala gatve 76 in Riga, is the one built for research spinouts, with more than 2,000 participants, more than 180 speakers, and more than 60 countries by the organisers' count.
• RIGA COMM, 8 and 9 October 2026, in Riga, is a business technology fair with more than 12 conference tracks on more than 8 stages. Go if your customers are Latvian companies rather than if you are raising.
• LAMPA, 2 and 3 July 2027, in Cēsis, is a conversation festival rather than a startup event, and it is where policy, press, and public money get discussed in public.
• The Latvian Startup Awards, on 5 December at Spīķeru koncertzāle in Riga, closes the year with the ecosystem's own prize-giving.

How Do You Work a Conference When Nobody Knows Your Company?

Pick the five people you want to meet, find out where they will be, and ask for fifteen minutes before the event rather than during it. Everything else follows from that, because a conference is a place to hold meetings you arranged rather than a place meetings happen to you.

• Book before you go. The published speaker and investor lists exist weeks in advance. A short message naming why you want to meet that person beats any number of hallway introductions.
• Have one sentence. What you do, for whom, and the one number that makes it interesting. If it takes a slide, it is not ready.
• Work the side events. The main stage is the least useful part. Side events, dinners, and the queue for coffee are where conversations last longer than ninety seconds.
• Follow up within two days. A note with the thing you promised beats the fifteenth pitch deck in an inbox a week later.
• Count meetings, not steps. Judge the trip by who you met and what happens next, and then decide whether to go again.
